Summer Break FAQs
Summer Break FAQs
Who can attend?
Any child between the ages of 3 years through 5th grade! We keep it flexible for our 5th graders whether they just finished 5th grade or will be going into 5th grade, they are still welcome to participate.
How much does it cost?
It’s FREE! There is no charge for your child to participate!
What time does it start?
Summer Break starts promptly at 6:30pm each evening; registration/check-in begins at 6:15pm. It’s always good to arrive early so your child doesn’t miss a second of the fun!
What will they do?
Summer Break is a fully immersive experience for your child. Each night they will enjoy one of the crazy events in the Splat Zone, cool down and hose off at the rain and mist stations, join a 100+ other kids in high-energy singing with our live Summer Break Band, learn an amazing lesson from the Bible, and apply life-truths through interactive teaching games.
Do I have to stay onsite?
No, Summer Break is designed to give parents a break! You are free to check in your child, leave, and return at 8:30 for pickup!
What should my child wear?
Plan to get wet and messy! We recommend your child wearing their swim suit under an old t-shirt and old shorts, and shoes that can get messy and be worn at all times. Due to the varied Splat Zone ingredients, please make sure your child wears something that you wouldn’t mind getting messy or stained! We recommend bringing a change of clothes and towel for your child after each night.
How do I register?
Parents/Legal Guardians just need to fill out the registration form here. This will ensure a speedy check in opening night.
What are your security measures?
On their first night of attendance, children will receive a security bracelet, and parents will receive a corresponding security card. Parents will need to keep this card for the entire week to check their children in and out, and we encourage kids to keep their bands on all week. No child will be released without the security card. If they break or lose their band, they will need to check in with an adult to re-issue a new band and security card. If you lose your card, please report to the lobby with your picture ID for checkout verification.
What about the volunteers, what kind of safety is involved there?
We love getting volunteers connected, but safety is our number one concern when being sure we have the help we need to care for our kids. Currently only regular attenders of Friendship Church or Ministry Partners of Friendship Church are eligible to volunteer for this event. All volunteers must have a background screening check completed to be allowed to help with Summer Break.
Where do I pick up my child?
We will have tents for each age group clearly marked. Report to your child’s tent, and complete the secure check out with your Experience Guide, then keep your card handy for a second security check at the exit!
Can I bring my child’s friends?
YES! We will need some basic information in case of emergency, so their parents will need to fill out their child’s information on the Registration page [URL: http://experiencefriendship.com/summer-break-registration] and electronically sign their permission for their child or children to participate. Whoever drops off the children will be issued the security cards for pick up as well! Be sure to hand those off to whoever will be picking up your child from Summer Break.
